
Shadow of Grief Over Entire Kakatpur Following the Demise of Manoj Samal
Kakatpur, 08/04/2025 (Tushar Dixit) – Today, Manoj Samal (popularly known as Panuwa) of Mahanti Sahi, Kakatpur, passed away at the age of 51 in a private hospital. He had been suffering from health issues for a long time. In recent days, his condition had worsened, prompting his admission to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. At around 10 a.m. today, his health suddenly deteriorated, and after a brief struggle with life, he succumbed to his illness.
From his school days to his final years, Manoj was actively involved in various social and cultural activities. He is survived by three daughters. All family responsibilities were managed by his son-in-law and brothers.
As soon as news of his passing spread this morning, the entire town of Kakatpur was plunged into mourning. Known across the region as a religious and pious man, many relatives, friends, classmates, and well-wishers gathered at his residence in Mahanti Sahi, Kakatpur, to pay their final respects.
A funeral procession was held from his home to the village cremation ground in Mangalpur. Those who were close to him participated in the procession to bid him a final farewell. Among those present were his elder brothers Manguli Samal, Sanjay Samal, Sarbeswar Samal, Shiv Patra, brother-in-law Prasanna, sister Swapna, and son-in-law Saroj Samal. His daughters and son Dilip performed the final rites.
