Sura Babu Insulted
A shocking incident has come to light from Bhubaneswar, where Congress MLA from Jatni, Surya Narayan (Sura) Rautray, was allegedly insulted at the Kalinga Stadium. According to the MLA, while he was entering the stadium to watch a football match, a foreign security personnel deployed at the gate forcibly held his arm and pushed him out.
Today, the U-17 Women’s Football World Cup commenced at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. MLA Sur Rautray had been invited to watch the match and was provided with a pass in his capacity as the President of the Athletics Association.
Despite having a valid pass, when Mr. Rautray attempted to enter the stadium, he was stopped at the gate by a foreign security guard. The guard asked for a ticket, and even after the MLA showed his official pass, the security personnel did not let him in and reportedly misbehaved with him. It is also alleged that the guard grabbed his arm and pushed him out.
After returning, an outraged Sur Rautray told the media, “I was severely humiliated. Naveen Babu (referring to CM Naveen Patnaik), you have not donated a single thing for the stadium. You have only modernized and hosted games. We are the ones who made Kalinga Stadium. You walk in like a king, but for us, even with a pass, we are thrown out from the gate? This is utterly shameful. This is all uncivil. This government is uncivil. This management is uncivil. What was the point of issuing these passes? They are worthless,” he said angrily.
