A Day for Friends

The 4th annual reunion of the 1975 matriculation batch of Satyabadi High School, the successor institution of the Forest School (Banavidyalaya), was held on Sunday at the Baula Batika located in the sacred Bakul forest.
The gathering was presided over by alumni association president Umesh Chandra Baral, who spoke about the fading legacy of the historic Forest School. The event began with a silent prayer in memory of the departed classmates, followed by the felicitation of Baula Batika caretaker Kashinath Bhoi.
Secretary Sarat Kumar Sahu, along with members Ajay Kumar Hota, Rangadhar Das, Dr. Deba Prasad Das, Bhramarabar Swain, Surya Narayan Das, Sarat Samantray, Govinda Satapathy, Durga Mahapatra, Naba Kishore Mahapatra, and Ramachandra Mahanti, shared nostalgic memories and expressed wishes for mutual support in their growing years.
On this occasion, blankets were also distributed to the needy as an act of service. A forest picnic (banabhoji) was organized for 70 alumni and their spouses, making the day both heartwarming and memorable.
