Youth XI Defeats Veteran XI
Kakatpur, 22nd January – A T20 cricket match between Veteran XI and Youth XI was organized on Sunday at Narendra Stadium, hosted by Maa Sarala Sporting Club, Astaranga.
Veteran XI won the toss and chose to bat first, scoring 96 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For the team, Prahallad Muduli scored 41 runs off 58 balls, while Debasish Palouri took 2 wickets giving away 24 runs, registering the best bowling figures.
In reply, Youth XI chased down the target swiftly, scoring 97 runs for the loss of just 2 wickets in 13.5 overs, securing the win. Mithun Behera was the top scorer for the Youth XI with 47 runs off 25 balls, while Dibakar Chattoi bowled 4 overs, conceding 13 runs and taking 1 wicket.
Anath Bandhu Muduli captained the Veteran XI, while Prakash Chandra Behera led the Youth XI. The match was managed by Nat Kishore Mohanty and Bhaskar Nayak.
According to club media officer Pabitra Mohanty, who shared the details with the press, a new cricket tournament featuring seven teams from various districts will be held at this stadium starting 26th January, as informed by the sporting club.
