Suspicious Bird Rescue Incident – Astaranga Police Hands It Over to Forest Department
Kakatpur, 16.3: On Wednesday, a suspicious bird was rescued by Rupan Pati of Nanpur village in Astaranga. Upon receiving the information, the Astaranga police reached the village late at night and took the bird into their custody. However, on Thursday, the police removed two tags attached to the bird’s legs and handed it over to the Astaranga forest division for further investigation.
Forest official E. Sabira Kumar Sahu informed that the bird has undergone a health check-up and is being kept safely. The bird was first seen on the roof of Rupan Pati’s house with metal and plastic tags attached to its legs. Rupan had captured and kept the bird.
The brass tag had the words “ready bsp dn” written in English, while the plastic tag had “31” inscribed on it. For the past eight days, this bird was seen perching alongside other birds on the roof of Rupan’s house. Upon noticing the suspicious tags, Rupan’s son managed to catch the bird.
