Chalachanchala Kakatpur’s Presiding Deity – Maa Mangala Peetha
Kakatpur | 12/4
Yesterday marked the sacred Jhamu Yatra of Maa Mangala, the presiding deity of the vibrant town of Kakatpur. Devotees from far and wide thronged the holy shrine to witness the divine rituals and seek blessings. To accommodate the large crowd, several arrangements were made—water tents were set up in different locations, and sprinkling systems were deployed to offer some relief from the heat.
A unique initiative was seen near Kakatpur College Square, where free Anna Prasad (holy food offering) was served by a group of local youths. Their effort aimed to ensure that no one returns home hungry and to attract more devotees to Kakatpur. The event took place in front of Family Bazaar near College Square and received full support from Deepak Kumar Dalai, the proprietor of DKD Construction.
The program was visited by Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Tusharkanti Behera and Kakatpur Sarpanch Abhaya Kumar Sethy. A number of youth volunteers—including Sanjay, Milu, Pintu, Miku, Tapas, Japi, Saranga, Rupesh, Safalya, Tapu, Yeeshu, Rahul, Kunu, Raja, Suryakant, Tukuna, Rajesh, Amulya, Philu, Pupun, Bauria, Sikan, Bishwajit, Anu, and Kahna—played a key role in making the event successful.
The program was also supported by the Gramin Charitable Trust. After receiving the darshan of Maa Mangala, devotees partook in the Anna Prasad and expressed immense joy. Many offered heartfelt blessings to the organizers before returning home with a sense of peace and fulfillment.
