Puri, 19/04 – District Collector Samarth Verma today visited the birthplace of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das at Suando, including the newly developed Gopabandhu Museum, Gopabandhu Park, and the historical Sathighara (ancestral house).
Upon arriving in Suando, the Collector first visited the Lokeswar Temple located at the entrance of the village. He then toured the Sathighara, the Gopabandhu Museum, and the park. At the ticket counter, he interacted with the staff to understand the visitor registration system. He instructed the OBCC authorities to make arrangements for a shade or shelter near the ticket counter to protect ticketing personnel from sun and rain.
The Collector also spoke with tourists to understand local needs and requirements. He advised ensuring a clean and hygienic environment, availability of drinking water, and overall maintenance of the site.
Later, the Collector reviewed the construction progress of the Odia University being built at Satyabadi.
During the visit, ADM (Administration) Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Satyabadi Tahsildar Jayanta Jayasingh, District Information and Public Relations Officer Santosh Kumar Sethy, descendant of Pandit Gopabandhu – Dhiren Das, District Culture Officer Hemanta Behera, OBCC Executive Engineer Sundar Madhab Padhi, and other senior officials were present.
On this occasion, the District Collector also interacted with some tourists.
