Kakatpur – To ensure that various development schemes of the state government reach the people effectively and benefit the general public, especially the economically weaker sections, the state government has been making all necessary arrangements. As part of this initiative, today, Odisha’s Home Minister Tusharkanti Behera laid the foundation stone for the construction of a marriage hall at Mulagada-Dahikhia road under Kakatpur Panchayat. The project will be undertaken at an estimated cost of ₹35 lakhs under the state government’s development plan.
Present at the foundation ceremony were Puri Zilla Parishad Vice-Chairman Swadhin Kumar Nayak, Kakatpur Block Chairperson Sridhar Nayak, Zilla Parishad Member Sanyukta Dixit, Kakatpur Sarpanch Abhaya Kumar Sethi, former Zilla Parishad Chairperson Jyotshrimayee Dalai, MP representative Gyan Ranjan Sahoo, Minister’s representative Kabiraj Biswal, BDO Tushar Jyoti Ranjan, Tahasildar Biranchi Narayan Behera, BJD Block President Pranakrishna Mallik, Kakatpur Panchayat Chairperson Prafulla Kumar Rath, Ward Members Kalandi Charan Mishra and Naresh Kumar Parida, along with around 70 to 100 local residents.
The event began with traditional Vedic chanting. Minister Tusharkanti Behera formally laid the foundation stone and participated in the inauguration rituals. The dignitaries expressed that the proposed marriage hall would greatly benefit poor families in organizing wedding ceremonies for their daughters and sons.
In his closing remarks, Sarpanch Abhaya Kumar Sethi assured that construction work would begin soon and the project would be completed at the earliest.
