Paika Dance Steals the Show at Baidei Festival
Kakatpur – The traditional folk Paika dance captivated the audience during the second evening of the fifth annual Baidei Festival held at the Sai Temple in Gad Amarprasad village, under Tulashipur Panchayat in Nimapada block of Puri district.
The cultural program, organized under the chairmanship of educationist Manmohan Sharma, featured vibrant performances by Paika troupes that thoroughly entertained both the guests and the spectators. Distinguished guests at the event included Brahmagiri MLA Lalitendu Bidyadhar Mahapatra, BJP State Mahila Morcha President Prabhati Parida, along with Dilip Nayak, Purna Chandra Ojha, and Bhagaban Mishra, among others.
As part of the evening’s proceedings, 11 journalists were honored with ceremonial shawls and certificates of appreciation by the dignitaries. The event concluded with colorful cultural performances presented by the “Aahe Neela Shaila” group from Jatani and the Paika Akhada group from Khordha.
Hundreds of attendees stayed till late at night, thoroughly enjoying the performances. For the smooth conduct of the festival, extensive security arrangements were put in place by the Charichhak Police Station.
