BJP Gheraos Electricity Office in Protest Against Unscheduled Power Cuts
Kakatpur, 16/6: Amidst the intense summer heatwave that has disrupted normal life across the state, the unscheduled power cuts by Tata Power have worsened the situation for the public. Responding to the state BJP’s call, BJP leaders and over a hundred party workers in Kakatpur took out a rally from the party office, marched through the market, raised slogans, and staged a protest in front of the Kakatpur Electricity Office.
Led by former MLA Baidhar Mallick and coordinated by youth leader Sudam Swain, the protest drew participation from former MLA candidate Ishwar Behera, district executive member Mangala Prasad Samantray, Lalit Rath, Mandal President Saroj Mishra, Upendra Subuddhi, Dinabandhu Mohanty, Prabhakar Nayak, Golekha Pradhan, Natabar Swain, Adhikari Behera, Mangala Parida, and others.
The protestors strongly criticized the state government and Tata Power for their mismanagement and demanded an immediate end to the unscheduled power cuts. They also demanded the commencement of the long-delayed 33 KV power connection project at Ganipur, Kakatpur, which had received approval in 2021 but is yet to begin.
