Purapalli Illuminated with Festive Fervor for Ganesh Puja
Over a Hundred Pandals Worshipping Lord Vighnaraja
Kakatpur, 19/9: From village lanes to town streets, the entire region is abuzz with celebrations for the worship of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the foremost deity in Hindu rituals. In Hindu tradition, this day is observed as the birthday of Lord Gajanana.
To welcome the Lord, villages and towns have been adorned with towering decorative arches and dazzling light displays. Worship rituals began early in the morning at various puja sites. Government and private educational institutions also held Ganesh Puja, where students offered floral tributes and later partook in prasada.
In Puri district’s Kakatpur region, the festive atmosphere is palpable as the area celebrates the revered deity. Just like every year, the main market area—Ganesh Bazaar in Kakatpur block—has been beautifully decorated with high arches and lights to mark the occasion of Lord Gajanana’s arrival. Every shopkeeper prayed for the blessings of Lord Vighna Vinashan.
Committee President Kamal Lochan Dixit and all members actively took responsibility for organizing the celebrations, with Tushar Ranjan Dixit concluding the event in his role as the main coordinator.
The Mangala Cricket Club also organized a special pandal with an eye-catching arch and idol worship. Similarly, worship ceremonies were held in areas like Town Club, Medical Square, Block Square, and College Square, making the entire region glow with devotion and festivity for Lord Ganesha.
