Volunteers Donate Blood on the Occasion of World Blood Donor Day
On the occasion of World Blood Donor Day, a voluntary blood donation camp was organized at the Sadbhavana Bhavan premises of Gopabandhu Ayurvedic College by the District Unit of the State Blood Centre in collaboration with the leading social organization “Apananka Sebare.”
The event was inaugurated in front of the statue of Lord Jagannath with a lamp lighting and floral tribute by Dr. Sujata Mishra, Chief District Medical Officer; Dr. Deepak Sahu, Medical Officer, District Blood Centre; Jitendra Mahapatra, State President of “Apananka Sebare”; senior advisor Manoj Rath; social worker Badri Mishra; and Dr. Lalatendu Rath.
On this occasion, 100 units of blood were collected with the participation of members from “Apananka Sebare”, as well as representatives from partner organizations HDFC Bank, Tata Power, and Happiness Foundation. Notably, more than 40 donors donated blood for the first time, which was a highlight of the event.
Many dignitaries attended the program, including State General Secretary Chittaranjan Bishwal, State Vice President Bijaykrishna Brahma, State Spokesperson and Media Coordinator Jagadish Pradhan, Krushna Chandra Mishra, Biranchi Mishra, Soumyashree Ashirbadam, Debendra Maharana, Lakshmipriya Sahu, Nalinikanta Mishra, Debiprasad Brahma, Mita Barik, Shashanka Shekhar Pradhan, Satyanarayan Jena, Sushant Das, Bhagaban Mishra, District Blood Centre counselors Preetiranjan Nayak and Manoranjan Bhoi, among others. They successfully and systematically managed the entire program.
At the end of the event, certificates, special T-shirts, and flower bouquets were presented to all the blood donors in appreciation of their noble contribution.
