Congress Workers Remember Vaikuntha Nath Swain on His Death Anniversary
Kakatpur, October 2:
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Congress workers observed the death anniversary of the late Vaikuntha Nath Swain, former MLA of Kakatpur and a beloved leader of the people in the region. During the event, many veteran Congress workers remembered the late leader and reminisced about the time they spent with him, highlighting his contributions to the development of Kakatpur during his tenure.
Alongside Vaikuntha Nath Swain, attendees also paid tribute to former Kakatpur Block Chairman Lakshmidhar Khuntia and Dhaneswar Padhi, recognizing their roles and dedication to public service. Congress supporters present at the event offered a two-minute silent prayer in honor of the departed leaders and shared that leaders like them are rare to find.
On this occasion, former minister and senior Congress leader Ganeshwar Behera, State Farmers’ Cell President Amiya Pattnaik, former women leaders Sasmita Behera and Nirupama Patra, Congress candidate from Kakatpur Biswabhushan Das, Puri District Secretary Somyakant Khuntia, State Minority Cell Secretary Sekh Liaquat, Block Congress President Abadhuta Swain, Panchayat Chairman Nalini Kanta Dixit, veteran workers Nirod Baran Mohanty and Khirod Kumar Mohanty, and former Block President Bipini Bihari Mohanty attended the event and declared, “Vaikuntha Nath Swain lives on in our hearts.”
On another note, it was reported that some Congress workers expressed strong displeasure over the fact that there was no shade or covering above the statue of the late Vaikuntha Nath Swain. They demanded that senior leadership of the party address the issue and take necessary steps in this regard.
