Puri Rath Wheel Installed in Front of Sakhigopal Temple
Today, on the auspicious occasion marking the start of the sacred Shodasha Puja, the Rath Chakra (chariot wheel) of Taladhwaja, the chariot of Lord Balabhadra from Shri Gundicha Temple, was brought in a grand procession to the Shri Sakhigopal Temple.
The Bhoi Sevaks carried the Rath Chakra, beautifully decorated and placed on a specially adorned cart. In the presence of Shri Sudarshan Mekap, the Rath Supervisor of Shri Jagannath Temple, members of the Sakhigopal Temple Sevayat Association, along with other Sevayats, adorned the wheel with flower garlands and sandal paste.
Amid the sounds of kirtan, gongs, and mridanga drums, the Rath Chakra was ceremonially brought to the sacred seat of Shri Sakhigopal.
On this occasion, Sakhigopal temple Sevayats including Pratap Kumar Mahapatra, Rabinaraayan Patri, Alok Khuntia from Singhari, Bijay Kumar Nanda, Mohan Mahapatra, Sanjay Kumar Nanda, Mrutyunjaya Mahapatra, along with many local devotees, participated in reverently bringing the Rath Chakra from Gundicha Temple in a devotional atmosphere.
The Rath Chakra was brought from the Sakhigopal bus stand to the vicinity of Sakhigopal Temple in a procession. It was then installed in front of the Sevayat Association’s office.
A large number of devotees were seen touching and bowing their heads before the sacred wheel, praying for Lord’s blessings.
