Preparatory Meeting Held for the 34th Mangala Cricket Cup
Kakatpur, 19/11:
Like every year, this year as well, the 34th State-Level Mangala Cup Cricket Tournament will be organized at the Ma Mangala Mini Stadium in Pachh Padia, Kakatpur, Puri District, under the auspices of the Mangala Cricket Club. A press meet regarding the event was held on Sunday at the Khuntia Convention Center by the organizing club. Club President Pradeepta Kumar Dixit announced that the tournament will commence on December 25 and conclude with the final celebration on January 7.
A total of 8 teams will participate in the tournament. The champion team will receive a cash prize of ₹41,441, while the runners-up will receive ₹21,221. All matches will be 30 overs long. Players will wear white kits and play with SG balls. This was informed by Club Secretary Shubhranshu Bhushan Dixit.
Among others present were Club Manager Bhagabat Swain, E. Suryakanta Dixit, Sushanta Dash, Sanjay Samal, and Kakatpur Press Club President Kamal Lochan Dixit, along with all media representatives. Discussions were also held with all local businessmen and senior club members to promote unity and camaraderie. New members were enrolled and responsibilities were delegated in hopes of encouraging youth involvement. The meeting concluded with the expectation that this state-level Mangala Cup will become more lively and successful.
