Men’s Volleyball World Club Championship to Begin in Bengaluru from December 6

Six men’s volleyball club teams from five countries will participate in the Club World Championship.

The Men’s Volleyball World Club Championship 2023 is set to be held from December 6 to 10 at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. This prestigious international volleyball event is being hosted in India for the very first time. Six top men’s club teams from five different countries will participate in this championship.

This international tournament will feature numerous world-class and Olympic medal-winning volleyball players. Representing India, the sole club team participating is Ahmedabad Defenders, the previous year’s champions of the Prime Volleyball League.

Indian volleyball fans and players are very excited about the tournament. A major highlight of the championship will be the presence of global volleyball stars, including Wilfredo León, who is currently considered one of the strongest volleyball players in the world. Other top players include Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Earvin N’Gapeth, two-time gold and silver medalist Wallace de Souza from Brazil, Lucas Saatkamp, Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist Sebastián Solé, top scorer from Volleyball Nations League Nimir, London Olympics gold medalist Dmitriy Muserskiy, Lopez, and Flavio, among others.

The Indian club team Ahmedabad Defenders will feature standout players such as Ashwal Rai, Amit Gulia, Manoj, and Muthu Sami, who recently delivered exceptional performances in the Asian Games.

The six participating teams in the Club Championship are Sir Sicoma Perugia from Italy, Halkbank Spor Kulübü from Turkey, two teams from Brazil – Sada Cruzeiro Vôlei and Itambé Minas, Suntory Sunbirds from Japan, and Ahmedabad Defenders from India.

All matches of this World Club Volleyball Championship will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Network channels Sony Sports 1 and Sony Sports 3.

This international championship is expected to offer a great learning experience for Indian volleyball players and fans. Playing on home soil, Ahmedabad Defenders will aim to deliver their best performance in front of the home crowd.
