Annual Sports Meet 2023 Inaugurated at Blessed Sacrament High School
Puri, 9th December 2023: The Annual Sports Competition of Blessed Sacrament High School was inaugurated on the school campus. The event was formally opened by Mr. Rabishankar Pratihari, Treasurer of the Odisha Athletics Association, who highlighted the importance of sports in student life and praised the unmatched contributions of both the central and state governments in promoting sports.
Superior Sister Mary Rose graced the occasion as a distinguished guest and stated that despite many challenges, students’ enthusiasm for sports has remained strong. The school’s principal, Sister Mary George, emphasized the role of sports in the holistic development of students and urged that it be given priority in education.
During the inaugural event, more than 20 students performed a welcome song, over 60 boys showcased a drill display, and more than 40 girls presented a dance performance. The two-day sports meet will witness the participation of hundreds of students in various events including running races, high jump, long jump, and shot put.
Additionally, more than 60 students will mesmerize the audience with a yoga performance during the celebration. The school principal informed that all events and competitions will be conducted in an organized manner under the supervision of the dedicated teachers and staff.
