Press Statement Released on Appointment of New Congress OBC District President
Puri – The Indian National Congress is giving increased importance to its OBC (Other Backward Classes) wing as part of its broader strategy for forming a future central government. Observing this shift, other national parties have shown interest in strengthening their own OBC divisions but have yet to take concrete action.
In this context, with the approval of AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, and under the leadership of National OBC Department Chairman Captain Ajay Singh Yadav and Odisha State OBC Department President Bijayananda Chaulia, Rashmikanta Sahu has been appointed as the President of the OBC Department for Puri District.
Members from Puri District Congress, Youth Congress, Mahila Congress, Seva Dal, and Student Congress have extended their congratulations and best wishes to Rashmikanta Sahu on his new role.
Speaking on his appointment, Rashmikanta Sahu expressed gratitude to the Congress party for entrusting him with such an important responsibility. He stated that in the coming days, he will focus on strengthening the Congress at the district level and will prepare for an independent, determined fight to safeguard the rights of the common people.
He further declared that there would be a strong fight against the “brotherhood” alliance of the BJD and BJP governments.
