Tricolour Soars High at Kakatpur Press Club
Kakatpur (Tushar Dixit), 26/1 — Today, the entire nation is celebrating the 75th Republic Day of India. From Delhi to every corner of rural India, the tricolour is flying proudly in the sky. On this special occasion, the Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at the Kakatpur Press Club in Puri district.
The president of the Press Club, Kamal Lochan Dixit, hoisted the national flag. During the ceremony, he spoke about how India attained independence from British rule on August 15, 1947. However, at that time, the country did not have any constitutional framework for governance. Subsequently, under the leadership of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, a Drafting Committee was formed, and on November 26, 1949, the world’s longest written constitution was adopted. It came into effect on January 26, 1950, officially declaring India a sovereign democratic republic. Since then, this day has been commemorated every year as Republic Day, honoring the significance of the Constitution.
In his address, Mr. Dixit highlighted these historical milestones. Among others present at the event were Vice President Tushar Ranjan Dixit, Editor Aditya Kumar Raut, Associate Editor Prabhat Kumar Dixit, Treasurer Bhagabat Swain, senior journalists Purnachandra Panda, Santosh Kumar Dash, Niranjan Das, Lokanath Swain, Prashant Jena, Prabhas Kumar Prusti, Nrusingha Behera, Manas Kumar Dixit, Pradeep Kumar Panda, Pradeepta Kumar Dixit, Akshaya Prasad Mohanty, Subhadarshan Mishra, and Brajakishore Sahu.
