1983 Batch Kakatupar High School Alumni Reunion
Kakatpur, 04/02/2024: A heartfelt alumni reunion of the 1983 batch of Kakatpur Government High School was held today at the sacred premises of Maa Kuttama Chandi Peetha near Kakatpur. The event began with a tribute to their late classmate, Pranakrishna Nayak, whose absence was deeply felt by all. The gathering of former classmates brought back vivid memories of school days, as everyone present reminisced and shared stories from their time together.
Some friends found it hard to recognize one another at first, as time had changed many faces. But as the conversations unfolded, and old stories were recalled, familiarity returned, and bonds were rekindled. Many expressed how those childhood days could never return, yet the memories lived on—especially those tied to the school’s iconic Amari Hill, and moments of playful punishment like holding ears and squatting, or kneeling with hands under feet.
They fondly remembered the once-feared teachers like Naran Mishra, Gunanidhi Mishra, Ban Bihari Das, Shyamghan Mishra, and Anath Charan Swain, whose stern eyes once instilled fear but who played a crucial role in shaping their lives. Today, many of those once-nervous students have gone on to hold high positions in various fields. With emotion, several alumni reflected that it was the discipline and lessons imparted by their teachers—even the cane beatings—that helped them become who they are today.
Key contributors and participants who made this reunion a success included Durga Charan Mishra, Shekharaja, Dheer Panda, Babaji Nayak, Bidubhushan Das (Vijay), Mihir Mohanty, and Madhab Mishra, among others, who managed and coordinated the event efficiently.
