Satya Badi Swabhiman Manch Protest – Demand for Declaration of Satya Badi as a Notified Area Council (NAC)
Satyabadi – 05.03.2024 (Saswat TV) – The demand to declare Satyabadi as a Notified Area Council (NAC) has gained momentum. The Satya Badi Swabhiman Manch has launched an initiative in this regard. On this occasion, the Manch organized a discussion involving intellectuals, social workers, and journalists of the region at the sacred Panchasakha Peetha yesterday afternoon. Following the meeting, a protest rally marched to the front of the Sakhigopal Temple where a demonstration was held.
Although the state government had announced its intention to declare 35 new Notified Area Councils across Odisha ahead of the general elections, Satyabadi—a prominent historic and cultural destination of Puri district—was once again excluded, despite long-standing public demands. This exclusion has sparked strong discontent among intellectual circles.
Keeping this in view, Satya Badi Swabhiman Manch organized a protest on Tuesday afternoon in front of the Singhadwara of the Sakhigopal Temple. The protest saw the participation of Manch convener Satyabadi Das, Rabindranath Shadangi, Nabaghan Shatpathi, Debaraj Nayak, Diganta Pati, Chinmayee Rath, along with many intellectuals, social activists, and temple servitors.
The Manch has called upon all residents of Satyabadi to actively join the movement as it intensifies in the coming days.
