Journalists Wear Black Badges in Protest Against Government’s Apathetic Attitude
Kakatpur – Dated 14/03/2024 – In protest against the state government’s continued indifference and discriminatory attitude towards journalists, all journalists across Odisha began wearing black badges today while performing their duties. This action was initiated under the directive of Bibhuti Bhushan Kar, President of the Utkal Journalists’ Association.
At 12 PM today, under the supervision of Puri District Professional Journalists’ Association President Tribikram Ramakrishna Mahapatra and the leadership of Kakatpur Press Club President Kamal Lochan Dixit, journalists staged a silent protest in front of the local police station.
This movement will continue indefinitely from today, and during the upcoming elections, journalists will intensify their agitation until their demands are met. Participating in today’s protest were journalists Tushar Ranjan Dixit, Aditya Kumar Raut, Manas Dixit, Prabhat Dixit, Pradeep Kumar Panda, Rupesh Sahu, Chinmay Polei, Aditya Raut, Pradeepta Kumar Dixit, Prabhas Prusti, Prashanta Jena, Shubhadarshan Mishra, and Bhagabat Swain, among others.
