
Satyabadi’s Significant Role in the Formation of Independent Utkal Pradesh Highlighted
Sakhigopal, 01.04.2024 (Saswat TV): The 88th Utkal Dibasa celebration was organized today by Mission Satyabadi, a socio-cultural organization based in Satyabadi. The event, held at St. Xavier’s High School near Sakshigopal Bus Stand, focused on highlighting the key role Satyabadi played in the formation of a separate Utkal Pradesh.
Professor Dr. Abhimanyu Barala attended as the chief guest, while Professor Dr. Brundaban Rath was the guest of honor, and Dr. Rashmiranjan Mahapatra was the keynote speaker. The event was presided over by Mr. Satyabadi Das.
Among the notable attendees were Debadatta Samantaray and Deepika Samantaray, the headmistress of the host school. The program began with floral tributes at the statues and samadhi sites of the Panchasakha near the Sakshigopal Bus Stand.
Dr. Barala shed light on Satyabadi’s historical contributions, particularly its importance in the formation of a language-based state. Dr. Mahapatra called for collective efforts to revive the former glory of the Odia language and identity. Dr. Rath emphasized that the movement to unify fragmented regions began from Satyabadi itself.
Mr. Satyabadi Das pledged to host a global symposium in Satyabadi focusing on the Odia Language Conference and the ideals of the Panchasakha. He also stressed the importance of promoting and spreading Odia language and education.
Debadatta Samantaray echoed the need for expanding Odia language outreach and educational initiatives.
Notable members and participants who contributed to the success of the event included Nabaghan Satapathy, Bijay Parida, Rabindra Nath Sadhangi, Nihar Ranjan Swain, Upendra Bishwal, Debashis Mishra, Sushant Kumar Rath, Basanta Hota, Santosh Kumar Sahu, along with teachers, students, and faculty members of the school.
