Strict Vehicle Checking Underway for Elections

Kakatpur – 24/04/2024 (Tushar Dixit): With the general elections approaching and the model code of conduct in force, intense vehicle checking is being conducted across the region to ensure law and order and smooth election procedures. In various parts of the area, vehicle checking has been intensified with the assistance of Astarang Police, Nuagaon Marine Police, and a special team from CRPF.

Whether four-wheelers or two-wheelers, all vehicles are being stopped and thoroughly checked, including opening the vehicle trunks for detailed inspection. Vehicles entering from within the district or from outside are all being inspected.

The main objective of these checks during the election period is to curb anti-social activities, prevent the smuggling of illegal substances, drugs, and cash. Today, near Ukulei in Astarang, under the leadership of Sub-Inspector Deepak Samantsingha and ASI Kailash Behera, Astarang Police along with an armed independent CRPF team were present and carried out thorough inspections of every incoming and outgoing vehicle trunk.
