Scout and Guide Foundation Day Celebrated in Puri District

On November 7, 1907, the Scouts and Guides organization was founded for the first time in the world. Since then, November 7 is celebrated every year as Foundation Day by the World Organization of Scouts and Guides. This year, Bharat Scouts and Guides is celebrating its 75th year, marking its Platinum Jubilee. On this occasion, Foundation Day is being celebrated with great enthusiasm both across India and around the world.
To commemorate this special day, the Odisha branch of Bharat Scouts and Guides in Puri district organized various programs. As part of the event, over 1,000 members from almost every block in the district—including Cubs, Bulbuls, Scouts, Guides, Rovers, and Rangers—participated in awareness rallies and processions on public roads to raise awareness among the general public.

A special logo created for the 75th anniversary of Scouts and Guides was also distributed to all participants.
In Puri town, more than 300 Scouts and Guides from various schools took part in an awareness procession that started from Balagandi Government High School and proceeded up to the vicinity of the Jagannath Temple. The event was inaugurated by District Secretary Shri Mahendra Kumar Biswal and the Headmistress of Balagandi Government High School, Ms. Amrita Sahu.
The procession was coordinated by District Organizational Commissioner Shri Debashis Mishra with support from Scout Masters, Guide Captains, Rovers, and Rangers of all the participating schools.
Additionally, a special walkathon event was organized in the premises of the Konark Temple under the supervision of Scout Master Shri Rajkishore Senapati.
