New Shelter Inaugurated at Puri Govind Godham Gaushala

A new shelter house built by Odisha Mining Corporation has been inaugurated in the premises of Puri Govind Godham Gaushala. The inauguration ceremony was conducted by the Honorable Minister of Fisheries and Animal Resources of Odisha, Shri Gokulananda Mallik.
Along with the Honorable Minister, the founder-editor of the Gaushala Pandit Bishnu Charan Panda, senior journalist and spokesperson Bishnudatta Das, Odisha Mining Corporation Public Relations Officer Sandeep Sethi, Mahant Dr. Ramcharan Das Ji Maharaj of Nebaldas Math, Mahant Sadananda Das Ji Maharaj of Haripur Radhakanta Math (Khurda), and Puri District Animal Husbandry Officer Dr. Sarat Chandra Behera were present as distinguished guests.
On this occasion, Minister Gokulananda Mallik stated that the protection of cows in Odisha is our responsibility, and the Mohan government is consistently making efforts in this regard.
During the event, Pandit Bishnu Charan Pandaji drew the Minister’s attention to the issue of stray cows taking shelter on the national highways connecting Puri-Satapada, Puri-Konark, and Puri-Bhubaneswar. He proposed that these cows be rehabilitated through various branches of the Govind Godham Gaushala. He emphasized the need for departmental cooperation in this mission, which would also facilitate smoother travel for tourists visiting the region from across the country and abroad.
He also added that through the efforts of Govind Godham Gaushala, branches can be opened in all districts of the state, enabling the shelter and care of over 10,000 cows.
Members from the Maharashtra branch of Govind Godham Gaushala and a devotee group from Rajasthan also participated in the celebration.
