Two Senior Journalists from Kakatpur Honored on National Press Day

Today marked the celebration of National Press Day. As in previous years, this year too, the Charichhak Journalists’ Association of Puri district commemorated National Press Day – 2024 in a grand and vibrant setting. Former Minister Samir Ranjan Dash attended the event as Chief Guest and called upon journalists to always pursue fearless journalism.
The keynote speaker, Bibhuti Bhushan Kar, State President of the Utkal Journalists’ Association, emphasized the urgent need to advocate for a Journalist Protection Act, implementation of a journalist pension scheme, and establishment of a Press Academy. He stated that demands for these reforms would be placed before the state government in the near future.
On this occasion, Aditya Kumar Raut, Secretary of the Kakatpur Press Club, and senior journalist Prabhat Kumar Dixit were felicitated by the dignitaries with flower bouquets, ceremonial scarves (uttariya), and certificates of honor.

Among others, the event was graced by the President of the Puri District Working Journalists’ Association and the Chairman of Nimapada Panchayat Samiti, Shankar Bhoi, who also extended their congratulations and support to the awardees.
