Launch of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana

Kukudakhandi, 11/04/2025 – The Government of Odisha officially launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) and Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana, aiming to provide extensive healthcare benefits to the general public. These programs were inaugurated simultaneously at Ayushman Arogya Mandirs across the state, with block administrations arranging virtual broadcasts to enable public viewing.

In the Kukudakhandi Block of Ganjam district, elaborate arrangements were made at five Ayushman Arogya Mandirs. The main inaugural event took place in the premises of the Balipada Ayushman Arogya Mandir. Local MLA Dr. Siddhanta Mahapatra attended as Chief Guest, while other prominent guests included Dr. Pallavi Swain, Cluster Development Officer; Smt. Bishnupriya Patra, Acting Block Chairperson; Anurag Rath, Assistant Executive Engineer; Dr. Ravi Nayak, Balipada CHC Officer; and Sarpanch Jhili Sethi.

In his address, MLA Dr. Mahapatra stated that every eligible beneficiary will receive health insurance coverage up to ₹5 lakhs, with an additional ₹5 lakhs allocated specifically for women. Individuals aged above 70 years will be issued separate health cards, and within three months, health insurance cards under both AB-PMJAY and Gopabandhu schemes will be distributed.

New Ayushman cards were handed out to beneficiaries at various centers including Jagadalpur, Lathi, Hugulapata, Balipada, and Bantapalli. Dignitaries personally presented the cards to those in attendance.

Key attendees at the event across all seven Ayushman Arogya Mandirs included Sarpanch Kanti Kumari Devi (Jagadalpur), Sarpanch Radhamohan Sethi (Lathi), Samiti Member Jagannath Gouda, Sarpanch Gauri Gouda (Sihala), Samiti Representative Sanatan Sangram Singh (Bauljholi), Samiti Member Laxmi Swain (Rohi), Social Security Officer Manoj Pradhan, Mandal Representative Adala Nandakishore, Senior Leader Uday Behera, Youth Leader Rajat Patra, numerous Anganwadi and medical staff, local residents, and community dignitaries.
