Kalash Yatra for World Peace Mahayajna
Kakatpur, 15/01: The 32nd World Peace Mahayajna will be conducted at the renowned Shaiva Peeth, Sri Sri Ishwaranath Shambhupeeth in Jiunti village, under Astaranga block of Puri district, during the occasion of the Jagar Yatra. To mark the event, a spiritual Kalash Yatra was held on Wednesday in a devotional atmosphere.
From the morning, hundreds of women devotees participated in a grand procession accompanied by musical instruments and lights. The procession reached the Vishwamitra Ghat of the ancient Prachi River, where the sacred river water was worshipped by Vedic priests. The women then carried the Kalash (sacred pot) on their shoulders and returned to the temple, where the Kalash was ceremonially installed.
As informed by temple chief priest Prafulla Chandra Panda, the sequence of rituals includes: Ankuraropana (sowing of seeds) on Wednesday, Saptasati Chandipath on Thursday, Gita Yajna on Friday, and Purnahuti (final offering) on the occasion of Maha Shivaratri on Saturday.
In preparation for the Jagar Yatra, the temple premises have been cleaned and decorated with colorful lights by the Gopabandhu Youth Social Organization. Bijay Kumar Dash and Basanta Manjari Dash have taken responsibility as Karta and Kartti (main organizers). The Yajna rituals are being conducted by prominent scholars and priests including Anjan Kumar Dash, Karunakar Mishra, Brahma Vedanta Tattvadarshi Mishra, and Acharya Haraprasad Dash.
