5T Secretary VK Pandian Visits Kakatpur
Kakatpur, 19/08 – On Saturday, 5T Secretary VK Pandian visited the Kakatpur assembly constituency in Puri district as part of his scheduled tour. He arrived at the Kakatpur block field at around 10:15 AM by helicopter and was escorted to the venue by Puri District Collector Samarth Verma and Superintendent of Police Kanwar Vishal Singh. After his arrival, Mr. Pandian first met with members of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and expressed his gratitude, stating that women were becoming self-reliant and progressing in society under the leadership of the Hon’ble Chief Minister.
During the event, the Secretary received numerous grievance petitions from the public concerning various local issues. Addressing one of the pressing problems, he assured that the drinking water issue would be resolved within two days. He also promised that the development of temples, mosques, churches, and community centers would be completed within a week. Furthermore, he added that the Chief Minister would soon deliver good news to the people.
In his address, Mr. Pandian announced several major developmental projects for the region. He spoke of substantial financial allocations for infrastructure and public services, aiming to transform the area’s facilities and restore key natural and cultural landmarks. He emphasized that the government was committed to inclusive development that would benefit all communities.
Mr. Pandian arrived in Kakatpur an hour later than scheduled. The gathering witnessed a massive turnout, with over 500 buses bringing thousands of women from various panchayats to the venue. Due to the large crowd, traffic in Kakatpur was heavily disrupted for hours, and even ambulances were seen stranded in the congestion. In anticipation of possible protests, police had detained around 20 Congress workers as a precautionary measure against any black flag demonstrations.
