Traffic Awareness Campaign by Kakatpur Police
Kakatpur, 14/9: The rising rate of road accidents in the state due to reckless speeding has become a major concern. These accidents are claiming numerous valuable lives and, in many cases, are shattering families both emotionally and financially. Among the many causes, careless driving is a significant contributor, endangering not just the driver’s life but also others on the road. Adding to the chaos are young “Romeos” who roam around markets creating loud noise disturbances.
To address these issues, the Kakatpur Police Station has launched a public awareness campaign under the leadership of Officer-in-Charge Umesh Sahu. A special traffic awareness team from Kakatpur Police conducted an event in front of the new bus stand, where two-wheeler riders were encouraged to wear helmets, and four-wheeler drivers were urged to use seat belts while driving.
Those who were found driving responsibly with helmets were welcomed and appreciated with a rose from the Kakatpur Police. On the other hand, those violating traffic rules—riding without helmets or driving without seat belts—were counseled and made aware of the risks involved.
This initiative by Kakatpur Police has received praise from various quarters. Moreover, the police have announced that in the evening hours, surprise checks will be conducted at various junctions and markets. Drivers of speeding vehicles will face fines, and their driving licenses will be checked and verified as part of the enforcement drive.
