Efforts to Organize More Blood Donation Camps and Raise Awareness in Rural Odisha

In an effort to raise awareness about blood donation in rural areas of the state, a blood donation camp was organized today at Mayujabeg village in the Pipili region of Puri district, through the initiative of the Nexus Foundation.
In collaboration with the Red Cross Bhubaneswar branch, a total of 30 units of blood were collected during the camp. The event was graced by Balanga Police Station Officer Dibyaranjan Panda as the chief guest, and social worker Siddharth Rautray as the guest of honor. The program began with the guests offering floral tributes to a portrait of Swami Vivekananda and lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Both dignitaries were welcomed and felicitated with bouquets and mementos by Subrat Mallik, President of the Foundation, and Satchikanta Muduli, the Coordinator.
In their addresses, the chief guest and guest of honor encouraged the organization’s members to organize more blood donation camps across various rural regions of the state.
Padmalochan Mahapatra, Director of the prominent Puri-based blood donation initiative “Blood Donor Group,” also attended the camp and discussed the potential of creating a revolutionary change in the field of blood donation in the state through collective efforts of such organizations.
Local Sarpanch Rina Mishra emphasized the need to involve more women in rural blood donation initiatives.
The program was well-conducted by local committee member Raghunath Sahu, while in his closing remarks, Govinda Chandra Das, along with Biswaranjan Sahu, Chinmaya Behera, and Saroj Kumar Sahu, extended heartfelt thanks to all the blood donors and Red Cross volunteers for their invaluable contributions.
