Free Sacred Thread Ceremony (Upanayana) on February 18

Puri: As in previous years, this year too, the Shri Ram Chandra Swamy Charitable Trust will organize a free mass Upanayana (sacred thread ceremony) on Sunday, February 18. The ceremony will be conducted following Vedic rituals at the Balaji Temple premises near Lokanath Temple, within the Thanapati Ashram, under the guidance of Jeeyar Swami Math Mahant Shri Indira Raman Ramanuja Das Ji Maharaj.

All necessary arrangements—including accommodation, meals, and ritual items—will be provided free of cost for the initiates and their accompanying family members. Therefore, interested Brahmin families from within and outside the state are requested to register for the event by February 15 by contacting the Jeeyar Swami Math at Balisahi, Puri.
