Foundation Day of Utkalmani Memorial Celebrated

Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das was truly the “jewel of Utkal.” He was a living embodiment of sacrifice, service, and dedication. The government’s initiative to preserve his memory is truly commendable.
The first Foundation Day of the Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das Memorial Site was celebrated at the Gopabandhu Museum in Suaando. The event was graced by Dr. Sarat Chandra Mahapatra, Additional District Magistrate (Protocol), as the Chief Guest, and social workers Dhirendra Das and Ravi Das as special guests. Also present were Tahasildar Jayanta Jayasingh, Block Development Officer Lipsa Ray, and District Culture Officer Hemanta Behera.
At 9 AM, all guests offered floral tributes at the statue of Gopabandhu and visited the museum premises. Later, at 10 AM, a discussion session on the life and legacy of Gopabandhu was held in the museum courtyard, which saw participation from over 100 students, as well as teachers from various schools. The session was coordinated by District Culture Officer Mr. Behera.
The employees of L & K Services assisted with the successful organization of the event. According to the speakers, this initiative not only serves the people of the state but also raises awareness about the ideals of Utkalmani among visitors from different parts of the country.
