Massive Campaign by Sanjay Das Burma and Arup Patnaik with Thousands of Supporters in Kanas
Kanas: 09.04.24 (Saswat TV) – A grand campaign has been launched by Sanjay Das Burma and Arup Patnaik in the Kanas block of the Satyabadi assembly constituency, accompanied by thousands of enthusiastic supporters. The land of struggle and bravery, Kanas witnessed an impressive rally led by Biju Janata Dal’s MP candidate Arup Patnaik and MLA candidate Sanjay Kumar Das Burma, which commenced from Trilochanpur Chhak and moved towards the Panchayat Samiti premises and the Shaheed Smruti Peetha, where they offered floral tributes at the statues of great personalities.
From there, the procession continued, and Mr. Das Burma offered prayers and received blessings at the shrine of the presiding deity Maa Kunjeswari of Kanas. Responding to media queries, former minister Mr. Das Burma said that Kanas is a land of struggle, once the base of legendary leftist peasant leader late Prananath Patnaik. He emphasized that he began his political and social journey from this very soil over two decades ago. Whether during super cyclones or devastating floods, he has always stood by the people of Kanas. He recalled showing the tragic flood situation of Kanas to Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during the catastrophic flood of 2006.
He highlighted that Kanas is a land sanctified by the service, penance, and dedication of Pandit Gopabandhu Das and the Panchasakha (five great reformers), and is a unique ground of struggle. Mr. Das Burma expressed pride that Hon’ble Chief Minister has nominated Mr. Arup Patnaik as MP candidate and himself as the MLA candidate for such a culturally and historically rich constituency. They have taken a firm pledge to ensure the overall development of the Satyabadi constituency, including flood control in Kanas, resolving irrigation and drainage issues, and strengthening the rural infrastructure.
He confidently expressed that the intellectuals, elders, farmers, women, and youth of Kanas would bless their electoral fight.
The procession continued from Kanas, passing through Alibada Panchayat, to the sacred shrine of Maa Bhagabati, and then to the spiritual center of Sri Sri Abhiram Paramahamsa Dev – the Karamala Shanti Anand Ashram. There, they paid homage at the samadhi shrine of the saint and also met the Acharya of Karamala Math, receiving his blessings.
