“Utha Odia” Organization’s Sankalpa Yatra
Sakhigopal: 11.4.24 (Singhari Alok Khuntia) – The “Utha Odia” organization has launched a Sankalpa Yatra (resolution march) for the identity and pride of the Odia language and culture. Beginning from the front of the Jagannath Temple in Puri, the march reached Bakulban of Satyabadi today – the workplace of the Panchasakha (five great reformers) and widely considered the intellectual heart of Odisha, often called the “man-making factory” of the state.
At Bakulban, the participants not only praised the state government’s efforts in establishing an Odia University at Satyabadi but also held discussions on crucial topics such as how to ensure the protection and promotion of the Odia language, how the youth of the state can become self-reliant and employable, and the importance of following the ideals of the Panchasakha. They also placed demands before the government for the restoration of Bakulban to its former glory.
In the afternoon, the march proceeded toward Suando, the birthplace of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das.
