Statue of Saint Tulsidas to Be Installed at Tulasi Choura in Puri
The historic village of Tulasi Choura under Malati Patpur Panchayat in Puri is set to gain new spiritual significance as a statue of Saint Tulsidas will be installed at his sacred site (Siddha Peetha). Recognizing the importance of this location, Jagadguru Padma Vibhushan Ram Bhadracharya Ji Maharaj, the head of Tulsi Peeth in Chitrakoot, decided to have the statue of Saint Tulsidas established there.
Following the advice of the Jagadguru, his disciple Pandit Bishnu Charan Panda—founder of the Shri Ram Sundarkand Charitable Trust in Puri—was entrusted with carrying out this initiative. Acting on this, Pandit Panda held discussions with Odisha Governor Raghubar Das and extended an invitation for him to attend the upcoming celebration.
Later, Pandit Panda visited Tulasi Choura village, where he had darshan of the sacred Siddha Peetha and interacted with local villagers regarding the preparations. A grand celebration has been scheduled for July 9 at the Siddha Peetha, during which the statue will be unveiled.
The event will be graced by the presence of the Governor, Chief Minister, Jagadguru Ram Bhadracharya Ji Maharaj, and several revered saints, sadhus, and spiritual leaders. This information was shared by the Trust’s spokesperson and senior journalist Vishnudatta Das.
Today’s meeting was attended by Jagannath Sarangi, Sarpanch Birendra Mahapatra, Village Committee President Balaram Mahapatra, Secretary Santosh Kumar Mahapatra, Ranjit Mahapatra, Srikant Mahapatra, Gadadhar Mishra, Satyanarayan Mishra, Saroj Kumar Mahapatra, Jayaram Mahapatra, Om Mahapatra, Kartik Panda, Shatrughna Pattnaik, Lachhman Pradhan, and others.
