Guru Purnima Celebrated at Govardhan Peeth: Devotees Seek Blessings of Jagadguru Shankaracharya

The Guru Purnima Mahotsav was celebrated in a traditional and spiritual manner at the Govardhan Math in Puri, established by Bhagavatpada Adi Shankaracharya. The celebrations began in the morning with rituals performed for the current and former Acharyas of the Peeth between 8 AM and 10 AM. Afterward, devotees performed a Guru Puja for the 146th Jagadguru Shankaracharya of the Peeth.
In the evening, from 5 PM to 8 PM, a religious gathering (Dharma Sabha) was organized at the Satsang Bhavan of Govardhan Math under the guidance of Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Nishchalananda Saraswati Maharaj.
Guru Purnima was observed in a deeply spiritual atmosphere on the premises of Govardhan Peeth. On this occasion, Jagadguru Shankaracharya expressed his blessings and stated that with the grace of Maharshi Vyasa, may the entire world and the nation attain welfare and prosperity. He further emphasized that India will one day rise to become Vishwaguru (a teacher to the world).
He also urged everyone to come forward and work for the global propagation of Sanatan Dharma (Hinduism). On this auspicious occasion, renowned Odia music director Prem Anand performed devotional music during the Dharma Sabha.
Among the distinguished guests were the Honorable Governor of Odisha, Shri Raghubar Das, Rajya Sabha Member Subhashish Khuntia, and Engineer Prashant Kumar Acharya, along with devotees from across India who offered prayers and received the blessings of the Jagadguru.
The evening concluded with a cultural program followed by the Dharma Sabha, where devotees partook in the prasadam (holy offering) together and returned home with a sense of spiritual fulfillment and joy.
