Block-Level Sports Meet Held at Khandava

A block-level sports meet has begun at Bansadhara High School in the village of Khandava under Kashinagar block of Gajapati district. The two-day event is being organized on the school playground and will see participation from around 300 students from various schools across the 12 panchayats of the block.
The meet will feature competitions in kabaddi, kho-kho, running races, cricket, and other sports. The inaugural ceremony of the event was graced by Kashinagar Panchayat Samiti Member Jagannath Dora as the chief guest. Raghuram Sahu, Vice President of the NAC, attended as the guest of honor, while Block Education Officer Adikanda Gamang addressed the gathering as the keynote speaker. School Headmaster K. Rami Naidu also joined them on stage.
In their speeches, the guests emphasized the importance of sports in maintaining physical fitness and strength, noting that events like these help identify and develop the sporting talents of students at the school level. They also encouraged students by highlighting how good athletes today are earning both fame and financial success.
All sports activities during the event are being managed by physical education teachers working across the Kashinagar block. According to Block Education Officer Mr. Gamang, students who perform well in this meet will be selected to represent the block at the district-level competitions.
