The heritage, literature, and humanism of Satyabadi are unique and distinct across the world. Its pride, glory, and self-respect once stirred the entire nation. Today, Satyabadi stands proud of that identity. The sacrifice, simple lifestyle, and ideals of the Panchasakha (five comrades) and their independent educational philosophy will forever be remembered through the forest-school of Bakulban.
On the occasion of Gopabandhu Jayanti, a discussion circle on “Satyabadi’s Panchasakha” was organized at the Samadhi site of the Panchasakha, where eminent speakers shared their insights. Under the moderation of organizer Prof. Dr. Basanta Kumar Rath, the second bi-annual edition of Satyabadi Srujanika was ceremoniously unveiled. Distinguished educators expressed that this publication would be highly beneficial for future generations.
The event was presided over by noted social worker, educator, and senior lawyer Shri Umaballabh Mahapatra. The chief guest was former editor and professor of Odia language and literature, Manas Ranjan Mahapatra. Honored guests included former professor Dharanidhar Pradhan, Professor Ashok Mahanti, Professor Kamal Lochan Dash, associate editors Rabindra Nath Shadangi and Bijaya Kumar Mishra, educators Kashinath Mahapatra, Abhaya Kumar, Ramesh Dash, Bhabani Prasad Dash, Ranjan Mishra, headmistress Basanta Manjari Mishra, Bishakha Devi, Sujata Devi, and others.
Scholars and intellectuals from Puri, Bhubaneswar, Pipili, Delang, Konark, and local areas of Satyabadi—more than a hundred in number—participated in the program. They expressed their support for forming a learned council to ensure the successful continuation of such initiatives.
In conclusion, the Satyabadi Srujanika magazine was publicly distributed among attending students, guardians, and local education enthusiasts. Rajkishore Pati gave the vote of thanks, and all attendees pledged together to make this initiative more impactful and widely known in the coming days.
