Second Coordination Meeting Held for the Upcoming Sacred Anla Navami Festival

Anla Navami and Ekadashi Yatra are considered the second most important public festivals in Puri district. Thousands of devotees gather on this sacred occasion for the holy Pada Darshan (feet worship) of Maa Radha Rani. To ensure the festival is conducted in a beautiful and well-coordinated manner, a second coordination meeting was held on November 4, 2024, under the chairmanship of Sub-Collector Neel Madhab Majhi. The meeting was attended by officials from the district and Satyabadi administration, along with the Sevayat Sangha (temple servitors’ association) of the Sakhigopinath Temple.
The meeting saw the participation of Additional SP Bishnu Prasad Pati, Satyabadi MLA Shri Om Prakash Mishra, Additional Endowment Commissioner Shishir Kumar Sahu, Tahsildar Santosh Kumar Panigrahi, Satyabadi Panchayat Samiti Chairman Sunil Kumar Panda, SDPO Biranji Narayan Pati, Additional Tahsildar Piyadarshi Rajesh, BDO Lipisa Ray, Officer-in-Charge of Satyabadi Police Station Umesh Kumar Sahu, Temple Executive Officer Bishwabhasi Tripathy, President of the Sevayat Sangha Ashok Kumar Khuntia, Secretary Pratap Kumar Mahapatra, Vice-President Sanjay Kumar Nanda, other members, and several temple servitors.
During the discussion, the Additional Endowment Commissioner stated that the responsibility for issuing entry passes has been assigned to the Satyabadi Tahsildar. Expressing dissatisfaction over the delay in task completion by some departments despite instructions in the first meeting, MLA Om Prakash Mishra firmly directed the officials to complete all assigned work without further delay.
As per the announced schedule for the Anla Navami Yatra on November 10, temple gates will open at 1:00 AM. Rituals including Mangala Alati, decoration, Mailam, Mardana Abakash, and Natabara Vesha will be performed from 1:30 AM to 3:00 AM. Following this, other rituals like Surya Puja, Dwarapala Puja, Ballava, Sakala Dhupa, Bala Dhupa, and offering of Bhog to Madan Mohan will take place and conclude by 5:30 AM. From 5:30 AM onwards, darshan will be allowed for temple staff and servitors’ families as per the schedule set by the Sevayat Sangha.
Public darshan during the Sahana Mela will be available from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. From 5:00 PM to 5:30 PM, darshan will be temporarily paused for the shift change of servitors. From 5:30 PM to 11:00 PM, darshan will be open to the general public. The entire plan aims to ensure that the sacred celebration is conducted smoothly, giving devotees a divine and enriching experience.
