Young Journalist’s Wife Passes Away, Mourning Across Communities

Brahmamayi Das, wife of young journalist Prakash Kumar Das of Sakal Khabar newspaper and a member of Kakatpur Press Club, passed away at the age of 44 at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. She had been undergoing treatment for the past 15 days, suffering from a neurological illness. At around 10:15 AM today, doctors declared her deceased.
At the time of her passing, her husband Prakash, their only son Albya Anurag, her sister, and brother-in-law were present beside her. Her mortal remains were brought back to her residence in Kakatpur, where many paid their final respects.
Among those who visited to offer condolences were Kamal Lochan Dixit (President, Kakatpur Press Club), Tushar Ranjan Dixit (Vice President), Aditya Kumar Raut (Secretary), Pradeepta Kumar Dixit, Bhagabat Swain, Niranjan Das, Prashant Jena, Manas Kumar Dixit, Brajakishore Sahu, Prabhas Prusty, Samir Kar (journalist from Astarang), and several office-bearers of various business associations from Kakatpur.
Brahmamayi Das was widely known in the region as a kind-hearted, soft-spoken, and deeply religious woman. Her untimely demise has cast a shadow of grief across the entire Kakatpur area.
Her mortal remains were taken in a large funeral procession through the market area before the last rites were performed at Swargadwar in Puri. Her son Albya Anurag performed the mukhagni (ritual of lighting the funeral pyre), while family members, relatives, and well-wishers were present to pay their final respects.
