Former Executive Officer of Mangala Temple Passes Away

On Wednesday, the former Executive Officer of the Mangala Temple, Prafulla Kumar Mohanty, passed away at his residence. He was 74 years old at the time of his death. Mohanty had served for a long time as the Executive Officer of the renowned Mangala Temple in Kakatpur.
Around 7:30 PM on the night of his passing, he began experiencing severe chest congestion and difficulty in breathing. During his tenure, he was credited with overseeing numerous developmental initiatives within the temple complex. Key contributions included the construction and renovation of the Radha Krishna Temple, Jagannath Temple, temple kitchen (Rosha Sala), Surya Mandap, lamp house (Deepa), and new bhog distribution center.
The news of his sudden demise left the entire temple administration and Sebayat (priestly) community in deep mourning. His mortal remains were taken in a funeral procession and cremated at his native village cremation ground. His only son, Manoj, performed the last rites by lighting the funeral pyre, while his daughter, son-in-law, friends, and relatives were present to pay their final respects and offer heartfelt tributes.
