Maa Mangala Temple Servitor Sadhu Charan Dixit Passes Away, Kakatpur Mourns

Renowned servitor of Maa Mangala Temple and retired teacher Sadhu Charan Dixit has passed away. He had been suffering from age-related ailments and breathed his last at the age of 86. Known for his long and respected teaching career, he served for 28 years at Othaka Primary School before being transferred to Amunia Patana Kalia Garuda Primary School, where he continued to earn high praise.
After retiring, he dedicated himself to the development of Maa Mangala Temple and was widely appreciated for his efforts in initiating several key improvements. Tragically, on the morning of February 25th at around 5 AM, he passed away peacefully at his residence.
Following the news of his death, many of his former students gathered near his home to pay their last respects. Remembering him fondly, Janaranjan Sahu, Ratikanta Sahu, Rajkishore Sahu, and Bansidhar Swain said, “We have lost a great teacher and a compassionate guide.”
Members of the temple servitor committee, including President Manoranjan Panda, Himansu Bhushan Dixit, Debashis Dixit, and several relatives attended the funeral procession, which began from his residence and concluded with his cremation at the village cremation ground.
Among the family, his only son-in-law Debaraj Dixit, former sarpanch Tapan Kumar Dixit, and Santosh Kumar Dixit were present. His eldest son Ashish Kumar Dixit and Manas Kumar Dixit performed the last rites.
Upon hearing of his passing, Kakatpur MLA Tushar Kanti Behera, Puri Zilla Parishad Vice President Swadhin Kumar Nayak, and Sarpanch Abhaya Kumar Sethi expressed their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
