Preparatory Meeting Concludes for Maa Mangala’s Jhamu Yatra
Administration and Sevayat Committee Discuss Logistics Keeping in View the Gathering of Lakhs of Devotees
Kakatpur, 5/3 – Preparations have begun for the grand Jhamu Yatra of the presiding deity of Kakatpur, Maa Mangala. A preparatory meeting was held at the Trust Office by the Maa Mangala Temple Trust Board to ensure a smooth organization of the event.
The meeting was presided over by Kakatpur Tehsildar and Chairman of the Mangala Temple Trust Board, Biranchi Narayan Behera. Key attendees included Kakatpur Block BDO Tushar Jyotiranjan, Executive Officer Kailash Chandra Dash, members of the advisory committee like Himanshu Bhushan Dixit, Tushar Ranjan Dixit, Manas Kumar Dixit, Servitor Committee President Manoranjan Panda, Vice President Kamal Lochan Dixit, Secretary Pabitra Kumar Dixit, Ashok Kumar Dixit, Pradeep Kumar Panda, Pabitra Mohan Dixit, Head Priest Sarbeshwar Padhi, Kakatpur Police ASI Pramod Kumar Sethy, Officer of Champahar Fire Station, as well as various media representatives and social workers.
Due to a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic, a massive influx of devotees is expected this year. Taking this into account, a decision has been made to regulate the devotees’ movement through barricades — with entry through the temple’s east gate and exit through the north gate.
To maintain order, traffic management will be enhanced, and additional police force will be deployed. Information centers, medical camps, and drinking water facilities will also be set up. The fire department will spray water over the crowd to provide relief from the heat, and full cooperation will be extended from all support teams.
The rituals of Maa Mangala will begin at 3 AM, and the temple gates will open for public darshan at 5 AM, marking the beginning of the Sahana Mela (open public viewing).
