Former President and Secretary Elected Unopposed
A meeting of former students was held at the conference hall of Mangala Mahavidyalaya in Kakatpur, under the chairmanship of Dr. Ashok Kumar Tripathy. The meeting was conducted in light of the government’s recently announced “Mo College Abhiyan,” which encourages alumni to contribute to the development of their respective colleges. According to the scheme, for every contribution made by alumni, the government will contribute double the amount.
As a result, various institutions have begun participating in this initiative. The funds collected will be used exclusively for the development of schools and colleges and to assist underprivileged students in their education.
In this context, the meeting aimed to gather suggestions from alumni for the all-round development of Mangala Mahavidyalaya and to form a committee for the alumni association. During the meeting, former Students’ Union President (1998) Bishwajit Das (Dipu) was unanimously elected as the new President, and former General Secretary (2005) Ranjan Kumar Nayak was elected unopposed as the Secretary. Additionally, 20 other alumni were inducted into the committee.
Among others present at the meeting were Niranjan Bhuian (President of the College Management Committee), Saroj Kumar Nayak (Administrative Officer of the college), and Lalatendu Swain (Coordinator of the Mo College Abhiyan).
The discussions emphasized focusing on the development of the college and ensuring that students from economically weaker sections can access quality education.
