Pir Jahania Site Decorated for Bali Yatra Celebrations
Kakatpur (Tushar Ranjan Dixit), 23/11 – Like every year, the famous Bali Yatra is being organized on the auspicious occasion of Kartika Purnima at the Pir Jahania Beach in Astaranga, a place known for its spiritual harmony. This year, along with the traditional Boita Bandana ceremony, the organizing committee has decided to hold the Belabhumi Mahotsav and a literary forum as part of the celebrations. With preparations underway in full swing, enthusiasm among the local people is noticeably high.
Special attention is being given to publicity and decoration. Each evening during the festival, two distinguished guests will be invited, and notable personalities from the region will be honored during the events. On the second day, Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the literary forum will take place, featuring esteemed guests from across the state who will enrich the discussions on literature, according to the organizers.
To maintain order during the yatra, heavy police deployment is planned, and several arrangements are being undertaken by the local panchayat. The Boita Bandana ceremony will be held on Monday morning at the beach, as announced by the Mahotsav Committee. The two-day celebration during Kartika Purnima is expected to proceed peacefully, and the committee has appealed to the public to participate respectfully and enjoy the events in a calm and disciplined manner.
This year, the newly introduced Belabhumi Mahotsav will also feature evening cultural programs. On the evening of the 27th, performances will include the well-known Prince Dance Group, Nrutyangana Odissi, and musical presentations by renowned singers Bishnumohan Kabi and Prajna Hota. On the evening of the 28th, there will be performances by Nrutyangana Odissi, Mallakhamb artists, and a musical show by singer Ira Mohanty’s group, as per information provided by the organizing committee.
