Puri to Host Grand Puri Folk Art Festival in the Coming Days

A district-level artists’ convention and membership campaign organized by the State Cultural Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was recently held at Puri Sanskriti Bhavan. The meeting, which began at 3 PM, was presided over by Puri District Cultural Cell Coordinator Engineer Surya Rath. The chief guest of the event was BJP State Vice President Golak Mahapatra, while other esteemed guests included State Membership Head Ashok Mishra, State Cultural Cell Coordinator Pinky Pradhan, Assistant Coordinators Sanjeev Mishra, Krutibas Rath, Dr. Debendra Nath Taraai, and poet Shankar Parida.
Over a hundred artists from all eleven blocks of Puri district attended the event along with vice presidents of the respective block-level cultural associations. They presented their issues and challenges to the leadership present at the meeting. In his welcome address, District Coordinator Engineer Surya Rath announced that similar meetings would soon be held in each block under the BJP’s cultural wing, with an aim to strengthen the organization and initiate development programs for local artists.
State Coordinator Pinky Pradhan called upon the artists to align themselves with the Bharatiya Janata Party, emphasizing that the government plans to implement several welfare schemes in the future. BJP State Vice President Golak Mahapatra, in his address, encouraged all artists and proposed organizing a major Puri Lokakala Mahotsav (Puri Folk Art Festival) in the near future.
The meeting concluded with Ashok Mishra, the State Membership Head, briefing all artists on how they could become members of the BJP. The day’s program was coordinated by Singhari Alok Khuntia, while Anil Kumar Sahu and the vice presidents of the artists’ associations from all eleven blocks helped conduct the event.
