Inauguration of Shree Jagannath Seva Sansthan – Renowned Monastery Heads and Sevayats Participate
Puri, 14.02.24 (Singhari Alok Khuntia): On the sacred occasion of Shree Panchami and the worship of Goddess Saraswati, a grand inauguration ceremony was held for the new office of the Shree Jagannath Seva Sansthan, a religious organization, at Ganga Mata Matha in Bali Sahi, Puri. The event witnessed the participation of over a hundred revered monks and Mahamandaleshwars from across the state and the country.
During the occasion, the President of the Sansthan and the Chief of the Chhatisani Nijog of the Shree Jagannath Temple, Shree Janardan Patta Joshi Mahapatra, elaborated on the institution’s goals and mission. He stated that the Sansthan would function as a global platform for the protection and promotion of Sanatan Dharma. The institution aims to protect traditional Sanatan religious centers, preserve temple customs and practices, and organize spiritual congregations within temples. It is also focused on reviving rituals that have been discontinued, ensuring easy access for devotees to temple services, and maintaining cleanliness and beauty in temple premises.
Additionally, the Sansthan plans to organize community thread ceremonies and conduct workshops to train sevaks and priests in the Vedas, Vedangas, scriptures, and Puranas. There will also be provisions for imparting Vedic and Gurukul-based education through affiliated committees. To facilitate these objectives, the Sansthan will soon establish an educational institution. Beyond this, the organization will continue efforts to popularize and promote Jagannath culture among the general public.
The event began with Vedic chanting and saw participation from various monastery heads, sevayats, and social workers who engaged in discussions on religious topics, the safety of monasteries and temples, and the need for coordination among them. After the deliberations, the Mathadhishas inaugurated the new office of the Sansthan. The ceremony concluded with the offering of Mahaprasad. This grand event was coordinated by Narendra Mahanti, Bhimasen Panda, and Bishwaranjan Tripathy.
