Vaikuntha Utsav Inaugurated in Puri
Puri | On the occasion of Ashadha Krishna Navami (Sunday), the Vaikuntha Utsav was inaugurated at the premises of Shri Balaji Temple, located within the Shri Ramachandra Swami Charitable Trust Ashram on Lokanath Road, Puri. The festival is being celebrated from June 30 through July 2 (Ekadashi), marking the 12th death anniversary of the Trust’s founder and former president, Shri Ramachandra Ramanuja Das (Thanapati Maharaj). The event is organized in accordance with the traditions of the Ramanuja Sampradaya.
During the festival, daily recitations of Vedic scriptures, Vishnu Sahasranama, Bhagavad Gita, Divya Prabandha, and Ramanuja Viruda Bali are being conducted. The Vaikuntha Utsav includes rituals like Yajna and Homa, based on the Pancharatra Agama tradition, along with offerings and ceremonies following the Archiradi Marg.

The Trust continues to remain committed to fulfilling the vision of Shri Ramachandra Ramanuja Das. Present at the event were the current president of the Trust, Mahanta Indira Raman Ramanuja Das, along with members Shri Suresh Sharma, Shri Bijaya Narayan Ramanuja Das, Shri Ramesh Sharma, Shri Sudarshan Ramanuja Das, Shri Kamal Tebriwal, and Shri Vishnu Kumar Joshi.
Among the Trust’s key social welfare activities is the “Two Days a Week Free Allopathy Treatment and Medicine Distribution” initiative, conducted by experienced doctors. Additionally, the Trust runs a government-recognized Vedic school, the Venkatesh Temple, and a Goshala (cow shelter). Future plans include initiatives for yoga and naturopathy.
The three-day celebration is expected to attract an estimated gathering of around 3,000 people.
